Math:
Grade 7/8- In class today we began our new unit on rate, ratio and percent. We learnt the definitions of rate, ratio and percent and put our new knowledge into practice with some textbook work.
Can you give me a ratio for this scenario?

Grade 8s: Last week, Marcia played goal-keeper for her hockey team She stopped 20 out of 30 shots on goal. This week, Marcia faced 36 shots. She stopped shots on goal in the same ratio as the previous week. How many shots did Marcia stop?


Grade 9s: Today we had mini study meetings, reviewing each students struggles with the unit one on one. Students then made study sheets to review and study off of throughout the week.

Science:
Grade 7/8: In grade 7/8 science today, we reviewed species, population, community and ecosystems. We then moved on to explore the idea of resource competition and how it can affect a community. Over the next two classes we will be looking at building a small ecosystem of plants to watch resource competition on a small scale.
