Hi All,
I think we can officially say spring is here! What another beautiful day we had today. We began our day today having gym outdoors. Students played a game of soccer, practicing their skills for the afternoon soccer tryout.
After gym we moved upstairs to begin language. In language we looked at clerihew poems. Students looked at the rhyming patterns of these poems and added three examples to their poetry duotangs.
After language we had a science review. Students will be having a pop quiz sometime next week and will need to review their formulas over the weekend!
For the end of period three, we headed downstairs for an early reading buddies session. Students read to their SKs buddies until lunch.
We enjoyed a gorgeous outdoor first recess and hot lunch of mac and cheese.
After lunch, we had math. The grade 7s students focused on their unit review and practice test. They will be having their unit test next Tuesday. The grade 8s worked on manipulating formulas to find the surface area of a cylinder. Grade 8s, you need to continuously practicing manipulating formulas! See me for extra review sheets!
We then moved into science for period 6. We worked on correcting our review sheets and going over examples of M.A. (Mechanical Advantage) and V.R. (Velocity Ratio)
For second lunch and recess, students headed off to the park for their second soccer try-out. Well done everyone!
Mme. Stella ended the day with French Cafe practice.
