Hi All,

Today we began our day with gym. Mr. Browning had the students jumping rope to get their heart-rates up and then playing a game of bench ball. 

After gym, we moved upstairs to begin our academic day. In period 2, we had language. Students looked at the poetic devices of similes and metaphors. They wrote sentences creating their own similes and metaphors for given objects. 

After language we moved into science. Students had conferences with myself to discuss their science fair project and their research materials. We also discussed independent, dependent and controlled variables. Students are to hand these in for Wednesday along with their hypothesis. 

We had an outdoor recess and enjoyed hot lunches of penne pasta, yum!

After lunch, we had math. Ms. H joined us and the grade 7s learnt about congruent shapes, while the grade 8s worked on manipulating formulas for area and circumference. 

In period 6, we had music. Students have a music project due on Wednesday that looks at the life of a composer. For bonus marks they may play a piece by their chosen composer. 

After another recess and lunch, Mme. Stella ended the day with French Cafe practice. 

Homework

- Poetry design is OVERDUE! It must be handed in tomorrow to receive marks

- Tomorrow is the SJA Dance, See flyers that went home

- QUEBEC MONEY is OVERDUE! This is the second instalment and should be in ASAP

- Elevator projects due tomorrow

- Bake Sale this week! Bring your money for some goodies!
