April 25th

Hi All,

Today we began our day with ultimate frisbee in gym. Mr. Browning had the students outside tossing the frisbee around the playground.
After gym, we moved up to the portable for the rest of our day. We worked on our poetry booklet in period 2 and looked at Haiku poems. After language we had math. Ms. H taught the students about congruent shapes. We know that congruent shapes have the same side lengths and angles inside.
In grade 8 math, students worked on developing the formula for determining the circumference of a circle. They concluded that C/D= Pi and that therefore, C=(D)Pi or C= 2rPi. Well done grade 8s!

We had an outdoor recess and enjoyed hot dogs for our hot lunches.
After lunch, the students headed off to their basketball tournament at Tall Pines. The students who stayed, worked on their science fair projects, their poetry books and the French Cafe.
