April 9th

Hi All,

Today we began our day with gym. Students worked out in A2, running drills and building their fitness.
After gym we headed up to the portable for some spring cleaning. Students worked on organizing their cubbies, reviewing and asking questions about spelling tests and art marks, and made rules for our up-coming basketball games.
After second period, we moved into science. We continued to look at the effects of volume, temperature and pressure on fluids. Students explored Pascal's Law and examined an experiment that had them looking at the effect of depth and volume on pressure. Students completed short answer questions and graphed data from the textbook.
After science, we enjoyed some fresh air during first recess.
We came in from first recess and moved into math. Grade 7s worked on their unit problems, building a patio deck for a new restaurant. Grade 8s continued to work on histograms and explored scale, interval, range and frequency charts.
We wrapped up math in period five and the students moved to Drama. For the 4 weeks, drama class and French class will be a combined period with the students watching Les Miserable, and practicing for the French Cafe. French Cafe ended the day!
