April 2nd

Hi All,

We began our day today with badminton in gym. Mr. Browning had the students rallying the birdies back and forth after a cardio warm-up.

We moved up to the portable after gym to begin our academic day. Students came in and opened their spelling books to work on unit 19. Students worked on a crossword puzzle, they developed their vocabulary ,and they used their dictionary skills to match each sound-spelling.
We wrapped up language and moved into math. The grade 7s worked on area and perimeter of trapezoids, while the grades 8 moved into the main building to graph data using excel.
We all enjoyed an outdoor recess, with the students playing "zombies" on the playground.
After recess, we had science, D.E.A.R., writing and art. In science today, we took up last days homework on inventions, and began looking at the Particle Theory of Matter. Tomorrow in class we will be conducting an experiment on fluids and Pascal's Law.
After science, students had 20 minutes of reading. They explored class and library novels with genres ranging from adventure to drama to sci-fi.
In sixth period, students presented their narrative paragraphs and worked on their realism sketches in art. Many of the sketches are coming along quite nicely!
After an indoor recess playing bump, students ended the day with Mme Stella in French.
