February 4th

Hi All,

Today we began our day with basketball in gym. Mr. Browning taught the students about on court, during the game, basketball plays.

In period 2 we headed up to the portable and looked over our speech outlines. Students found a structure in their treehouse books that outlined the format of a speech skeleton. Speech skeletons are due tomorrow after second period.
We moved swiftly into period 3 and 4 and looked at math. Grade 7s explored recording data with bar and picto graphs, while the grade 8s looked at adding fractions.

After an indoor first recess and lunch, we moved into period 5. We had our unit #15 spelling test and took up our unit work. After spelling we looked at the text form called re-count. We read through the story of goldilocks and the three bears and students re-counted the story from different character perspectives. This was excellent and will tie into up-coming Giver assessment.

After another indoor recess, Mme. Stella ended the say with French.
