Hi All,
Mr. Browning began our day today, working on basketball skills and drills in gym class. After we worked up a sweat, we headed up to the portable to begin our academic day.
In period 2, students wrote persuasive paragraphs, attempting to persuade the class towards a certain colour. Well done to Mark, Kyle and Kyle for sharing their paragraphs and for highlighting persuasive techniques. I think we all have new views on green, red and black.
After language we moved into math. Ms. Bannon began unit # 5 with the grade 7s and started looking at Data Management. In grade 8, we began our fourth unit and started exploring fractions and decimals.
With the lake still outside the gym back-door, we headed inside for indoor first recess and lunch.
After lunch, Mr. Murphy gave us a lesson on symbols within our real-life that can be found and mimicked in our novel, "The Giver". Students will have their final assessment on symbolism within "The Giver" tomorrow morning.
After language, Ms. Henein worked with the students on Gala preparation and kept them during second recess.
We headed up to the portable for lunch and Mme. Stella met us for period 7 French.
