Today was our annual speech competition! Well done to all of the participants for working hard and memorizing their speech or poem.
As the speech competition took up most of the morning, the students had an early lunch and recess and began their afternoon early. For the afternoon, we focused on narrative paragraphs, verb recognition and our art projects. Students looked at how to build and self-edit a narrative paragraph in their language books. They focused on grammar, spelling, punctuation, tense, and principal parts while they self-editted their work. We will continue working on our paragraphs over the next week.
After the students finished their rough drafts, they looked at their Language C books and identified different types of verbs. We ended the period with some students working on their art projects and the rest editing their narrative paragraphs.
After language, students headed off to Drama where they began watching Les Miserables in English. This will be their French Cafe performance in May with Mme. Stella.
We had an indoor second recess, followed by our last class of the day, french. Mme. Stella put on Les Miserable in French, continuing from where the students left off in English.
