Hi All,
We began our day today with our spelling pre-test. Students then moved to music where they practiced for the holiday concert. Students are doing well with their feature songs and are really making headway towards guitar mastery.
After music we moved into language and math. Grade 7s began their unit 3 on Geometry where we started looking at shapes and design. While in language grade 8s learnt about the various forms of sentences. Once the grade 7 lesson ended, grade 8s joined the math circle for a lesson on solving percent problems. Just before lunch we had a lesson on sentence structure and looked at how sentences provide our writing with more depth and eloquence.
We finished first lunch and worked on organizing our student portfolios. Students reflected on the past two terms and selected work that represented their IB learner profile, best work, work they put the most effort into and something they want to improve on.
Once we were organized, students headed off to drama for Scrooge practice. We enjoyed second lunch and the students went outside for recess. The hill outside, when it snows or is wet, gets muddy. Students are reminded to use the stairs for going up and down as well as playing carefully in order to not ruin their uniform pants.
Our last period of the day was split into French and History. Mme Stella worked on vocabulary practice while in history students did their chapter 4 tests.
