Countdown to Christmas: 22 days

Today we started our day with our 3rd novel study spelling test. We headed off for some aerobics and basketball afterwards with Ms Lopez in gym. 

We moved into math after gym and worked on rate. The grade 7s were working on their unit review and practiced their skills with rate, ratio, proportion. In grade 8 they were looking at rate and their mid-unit review. 

After math, we began our next exercise in our language workbooks looking at short writing tasks. We discussed the difference between a "tim horton's" writing passage and a "starbucks" writing passage. Students worked on their brainstorm and some began their rough drafts. 

After a quick multiplication quiz we had lunch and first recess.

Coming in from lunch, students opened their math workbooks and completed their assigned morning work. After math, we had a history review of chapter 4 before heading off to music. 

We ended period 7 with a game of around the world, testing our knowledge of Canadian geography and history. 

Mme Stella ended the day with sentence structure and vocabulary development in French.
