November 23rd

Hi Everyone,

Mother Nature is really playing some tricks on us this year with this wild weather. Yesterday students were feeling overly toasty in their winter coats and today we were all bundled up with hats, gloves, scarves and warm coats.
Today in gym the students played a team game of volleyball working on their rallying and name-calling skills.
After gym students completed their morning work in math. They worked with comparing ratios and manipulating algebraic expressions within rate, ratio and proportion.
In language students focused on sentence structure and we did examples on the board of simple, compound and complex sentences. Students were also working on their expository paragraphs and beginning their rough drafts.
In math, the grade 7s had a mini quiz on ratios and proportions while the grade 8s studied more about scale drawings.
After lunch students completed work in their spelling books working with their novel study chapter 4 study words.
We had reading buddies with Ms. Chang's class in 5th period where we got to sit in the front desk chairs and on the comfy couches.
After reading buddies, we went outside for an extra gym period where we played a class game of tag.
After 2nd lunch, Mme. Stella ended the day with French work in vocabulary development.

Homework
- Spelling Test Monday
- Expository Paragraph due Wednesday
- Short Story due Thursday

Reminders
- Permission forms for the field trip next week went home today, please sign and return by Monday
- Parent/ teacher Interview forms went home this week and must be returned ASAP.
