November 22

Hi All,

Well done to everyone in the play last night! The students and Ms. Henien worked so hard and it really paid off. Kyle Cashin's sneaky Robin Hood definitely made me excited for next terms production.

Today we did volleyball drills, practicing our rallies, volleying and bumping skills.
After gym we headed up to the portable and began working on language. We looked at expository paragraphs while reading about predators in the wild. Students were assigned the task of writing their own expository paragraphs and will be required to research their chosen topic at home or at the library.
Students were assigned math work for the morning period and were required to budget their time accordingly. They were to complete two pages in their math workbooks on ratios and scales as well as initial research for their paragraphs.
After lunch and recess, we moved into history and art. In history the chapter 5 group was to present however, as they were not ready, students silently read and highlighted chapter 6. Once the students finished reading we started a new art project. As we have been working with 3D shapes and shadows, our next project encompasses these aspects. Students were given a black rectangular piece of construction paper and were to sketch out a skyline 3D view. Over the next few classes we will be painting our skylines with appropriate colours and shading techniques in order to complete our piece.
Mme. Stella ended the day with vocabulary development in French.
