Monday, April 7th

Hi All,

What a day today! Today was the first day of our fundraiser prize day and congratulations goes to Ms. DaCosta's class who is currently in first place! Well done grade 2s. MYP better step up there game to win a PS4 party and a pizza party (all during school hours!! ) Keep up those numbers grade 7,8,9!

In math class this morning, we looked at curve, linear and curved lines of best fit. Students examined relationships between written data and graphs to see how we can explain graphs using our words. Homework pg. 371 #8

In science, students presented their solar system prezi's, looking at the different planets and dwarf planets. We will continue presentations tomorrow!

Our Monday group headed off to squash today at 10:30, learning how to rally and how to serve.

In the afternoon, the grade 7s looked at multiplying and dividing using numbers while the grade 8s reviewed formulas for their unit test tomorrow. Grade 7s will have a quiz tomorrow and grade 8s will write their unit 6 test.

In science we had our "building" day, with students using architecture techniques rom ancient Greece, Rome and the Early Christianity Era to build a structure. We will test our structures on Wednesday. Tomorrow we will be heading to the library to do some research for the science fair papers due Friday. Students should be researching at home as well as during study hall this week.

Reminders
- Get yourself recognized for fundraising for our SJA Spring Fundraiser! Top prizes will be awarded to those who raise the most amount of money. Mr. Sawatsky will even shave his beard if one student raises $1000.00!! 
- Bake Sale will be held at the school on Wednesday and Thursday during first and second lunch
 - Second cup coffee will be on sale Wednesday and Thursday in the foyer from 9-10am. parents bring your own mug and save $0.50!
- Library trip tomorrow remember your permission form!
