What a day! We hosted our annual SJA speech competition with students from JKA all the way up to grade 9 getting on stage and speaking in front of parents, judges and fellow classmates. From the littlest ones reciting poetry, the grades 4-6 delivering informative and persuasive speeches and the grade 7-9s presenting TEDtalks, the day all around was a success. Well done to all speakers and to all of the students for their hard work!
A special thank you to our judges Lesley Kenny, Writer and Co-Editor for Descant (Canadian Literacy Magazine), Bruce Hunt, Founder of Toronto Speakers Academy, President of Downtown Toronto Toastmasters Club and Chief Organizer of Fear of Public Speaking (meet up group)
and Brianna Locke, Youth and Student Engagement Provincial Leader. They were kind enough to give the students some pro-tips and answer their burning literature questions after the presentations.
Another special thank you to Ms. Farmer and Ms. Bannon for putting together this fabulous event for SJA, it wouldn't have run as smoothly without you both!
