January 13th

Hi everyone,

This warm weather sure is helping to melt some of the snow and ice! We are expecting another cold snap in the next few days, so don't put away those winter boots and warm layers just yet!

Today in grade 9 math we took up our Friday quizzes and worked in our textbooks on algebraic relations and inverse operations. Homework is page 224 numbers 1,2,5,9

In science we discussed the theories on atom structures and read about protons, electrons and neutrons. Students summarized notes and completed an oral quiz at the end of the period. Homework is to summarize page 234-238

In grade 7 math today we looked at multiplication of decimals using base ten blocks and mental math. Homework is textbook page 145 # 3,7,9
In grade 8 math students completed their workbook on dividing and multiplying by 0.1, 0.01 and 0.001. They did khan academy as well. No homework tonight

In grade 7/8 science we began a lab on attraction and extraction of parts of mechanical mixtures. Students watched a video on iron fillings, sand and magnets. Labs are due tomorrow!!
