Countdown to Christmas: 23 Days
Hi Everyone,
Today in math, the grade 9s began Unit 4. We looked at skills we will need for this unit. They studied in pairs and worked on Pg. 192-194 in their textbook.
In science students had some time to work on their projects for the round table due TOMORROW.
The grades 7s and 8s reviewed the content of last week, then they worked in small groups, teaching each other about surface area and volume.
For Science, they worked on their labs, these are to be typed and printed due tomorrow!
Also, we did the grades count and the best student of this semester was our new Brazilian student Felipe! We are all proud of him!
Felipe, congratulations for all your accomplishments during this semester. We hope you stay like that. We may have had some problems in the beginning, but it seems you overcame them all. It's sad that you are staying with us for one year only, we will all miss you.
- From all your teachers, Ms. Elliott, Ms. Blanco, Mr. Browning, Mr. Murphy, Ms. Lopez and Ms. Pattenick.
Now that we studied a lot of science and math, the students from the grades 7-9 have an extension task where they will have to talk about ballistics, show formulas and give examples. (Just kidding) BUT answer this riddle for 500 house points!
RIDDLE ME THIS: Farmer Brown came to town with some watermelons. He sold half of them plus half a melon, and found that he had one whole melon left. How many melons did he take to town?
"Whenever you think you can' t do something, think of a Tyrannosaur Rex trying to brush his teeth" - Albert Einstein.
Have a good night everyone : ),
Felipe
