Hi All,
Today and yesterday we began our day with gym. Ms Lopez taught yesterdays gym, having the students play a game of dodgeball and work on their fitness. Today, they began their day with yoga in class with Mr. Browning.
We moved into language after gym. Yesterday we completed our point of view presentations and today we began working on our poetry unit. Students completed "Before Midnight" poems and will be working on other types of poems for the next two weeks.
We then moved into math. Yesterday the class competed in the Math Centrum math contest. Both grades did well and we hope to have them back by mid-May. Today we had the ONAP test in grade 7 and the grade 8s completed their unit test.
We headed outside for yesterday and today's first recess. With the temperature warming up and the lake disappearing, the students are really enjoying being in the fresh air!
After lunch yesterday we had a double science block where students worked on their science fair projects and their pneumatic/hydraulic elevators. Today we worked on our impressionist paintings and had some D.E.A.R. time.
Both days ended with French Cafe practice with Mme Stella, Ms. Henein and Ms. L.
Homework for tonight
- Earth Day tomorrow, wear blue, green and brown
- Science Elevator due April 30th: bring in materials!
