What a nice warm weather day we had today!
Students enjoyed some nice time outside for recess, basking in the sun.
Today, in grade 9, we practiced speeches and explored the fun of algebra in math and science. Students are to prepare a word problem for the rest of the class for tomorrow mornings period.
In grade 7/8 we practiced our Gala performance, the "Haka" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haka ) Students looked at percentage circles and a group task in our math and science afternoon block. Well done everyone! We found out that Canada has won more silver medals than any other medal during these Olympic games- Go Canada Go! I know we are all very excited for tomorrow's women's final game!
Parents: A newsletter, along with a formal letter from myself and GALA tickets went home today. The Gala is quickly approaching and the students will be performing a tradition war cry dance based off the aboriginals of New Zealand. We will be serving an international menu and hope to see all SJA families out participating and supporting SJA. I took the liberty of placing tickets in your child's agenda, as I wanted to make sure you did not miss out on this event! Please send payment by Friday ($75.00 per ticket) and if you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me!
