What a wet and chilly Friday we had! I hope it warms up or for the weekend!
Today in grade math the students discussed simplifying polynomial expressions. We looked at grouping like terms and expanding out brackets. They worked in groups to determine how they would simplify expressions such as 3(2x+3) + 4+ 6(3y+6x). At the end of the period students had a quiz.
In science we discussed our lab reports. Lab Reports are due MONDAY! Make sure you follow the structure on page 41 for the lab and ensure you include your purpose, hypothesis, procedure, answers to questions in text, research work and final conclusions.
In grade 7/8 math today we reviewed yesterdays elevation and depth research, examining how we could find the difference between the lowest depth and the highest elevation. Students then looked at addition of integers in their textbooks.
In grade 7/8 science, we talked about waste management and the ways in which our waste is recycled. Students will be working on a project next week looking at waste management and ecosystems.
