March 5th and 6th

Hi All,


March 5th
Today we had our ONAP assessments in math on geometry
These will be marked and handed back by Friday March 9th
In class today we also worked on our spelling unit and made our corrections to our book reports. Book Reports are due by Wednesday.
We had drama today where the students were assigned their official roles and began practicing!
In gym we continued to work on our basketball skills


March 6th
Today was great! In Language we worked on our Direct Reading Assessments and began typing up our good book report copies.
In Music the students practiced guitar and got a new list of music notes.
We worked on Spelling and our Reading in the afternoon and then began our next Unit of Inquiry! Through this unit we will be studying civilizations and physics. We began our lesson today with an experiment on heat. We had a great time dipping our hands into the hot and cold water and seeing how we were affected by the change when we dunked them both back into the room temperature water.
After second lunch we moved into Math and began our next unit on Number Sense. We practiced rounding in grade 6 and moved into fractions for grade 7. Grade 8s are still working through the Pythagorean Theory and will be for the rest of the week.

- Run Club permission letters went home yesterday. I would love for our whole class to be involved, please bring back signed permission forms by Friday

- SJA CAMP FORMS went home yesterday! This summer I will be running the program and am really looking forward to it! I'd love to see you all there :)
- Spirit Day tomorrow, dress in Green and White
