March 27/28th

Hi All!

March 27th
    Today was quite a busy day. In math we took up our homework from the previous lessons. In language we worked on our radio advertisements in groups and began to think of music to add in. After lunch we worked on spelling unit #20 and moved into our science lesson during 6th period. We are looking at heat in science and during our lesson preformed an experiment that demonstrated changes of state and the effect of heat on balloons and pop bottles. It was quite exciting.
After 2nd lunch we wrapped up our Hinduism art projects and began our unit 4 art assignments.


March 28th
Happy Wednesday!
    In math class today we worked on rounding and money sense in grade 6, fractions in grade 7 and decimal place value in grade 8.
In language we began our rough draft of our report card comments and wrote a journal entry.
After first lunch we continued with spelling unit #20 during grammar and moved on in period 6 with a look at the Maya culture.
Drama for today was cancelled so we had an extra period which we devoted to science work. We worked through the experiment yesterday and ways we can apply our theories and discoveries to the real world.

Reminders: (28th)
 -Yesterday was our first Run Club! It was so great seeing everyone out! Practice is again tonight and tomorrow after school. Please ensure you're bringing appropriate running shoes (not skater shoes, basketball pumps, or flats) and appropriate running attire for the weather (no SJA school time uniforms)

- SWIMMING starts tomorrow! Please make sure you are bringing:

Bathing Suit

Towel

Googles (if needed)

Nose/Earplugs (if needed)

- Tomorrow (Thursday) is Casual Day- for those participating you may wear non-uniform attire.
